At Pan American Language Institute we are committed to your professional development. In 1986, based on the philosophies of the different existing schools, Pan American concluded that:
- The quality of instruction was being sacrificed to sell the “product” of language lessons.
- Generic courses were not meeting the expectations and needs of the students.
For this reason, Pan American developed effective language courses for the business world. We are innovators, therefore, we tailor the curriculum to your needs, requests, or special projects.
In addition, our committment to performing an oral and written evaluation has helped us develop several levels of knowledge which focus on the different needs of our students. We have several teaching methods in order to adjust to the learning styles of our students.

Methodology
Our courses emphasize the development of oral communication skills, vocabulary and structural knowledge of the language. This is known as the Whole Language Approach. Using this methodology, the student is taught how to integrate vocabulary and grammatical knowledge to oral communication. In this manner, the student learns to build his/her own sentences, rather than simply repeating something he/she has heard before. Audiovisual resources (cassettes, CDs) are used as tools in the classroom. However, they are not used to replace the instructor as a teaching method.
Instructors
Our instructors are professionals with degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language, Linguistics, Modern Languages, Education and/or Literature. Candidates who wish to join our team must undergo a thorough selection process.
All candidates must present their academic credentials and pass two interviews in order to determine their personality and teaching abilities. The best candidates are chosen to form part of the existing team of instructors. Before they begin teaching, they receive an exclusive training from Pan American Language where they learn about our educational philosophy, curricula and levels of knowledge. After they have completing this training and started their courses, they are continuously supervised in order to guarantee their best performance.
Our team of instructors has ample experience in language teaching and they hail from different areas within education: the public Department of Education, private schools, universities and/or technical colleges. In addition, they are bilingual, trilingual or even polyglots. This helps them identify the difficulties that students have when learning a second language. In Pan American Language, we are very proud of our team and we are pleased to have instructors who have been working with us for over nineteen (19) years.
